Scott Sampson: Dinosaurs of the Lost Continent

Scott Sampson: Dinosaurs of the Lost Continent

February 15, 2012 10:30 A.M.

Paleontologist Sampson-Host of the hit PBS KIDS television series Dinosaur Train-will summarize some of the major insights about dinosaurs made over the past few decades.  He will also discuss his own work in southern Utah, which has produced an array of amazing new creatures, like the 15-horned Kosmoceratops.  Near the end of the Age of Dinosaurs, Western North America was isolated by high sea levels, forming a landmass that today we know as Laramidia.  Laramidia was home to the greatest known florescence of dinosaurs, and recent findings from this "lost continent" made by Sampson's team are causing paleontologists to rethink much of what they thought they knew about the world of dinosaurs.
